CSC Capiz prepares for 108th Philippine Civil Service anniversary

“Republic Service: Kabalikat ng Bayan sa Panahon ng Paghamon.”

Roxas City (28 August) – Various activities are being lined up by the Capiz Council of Personnel Officers (CPPO) for the meaningful celebration of the upcoming 108th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary in September.

This was agreed upon during the recent CPPO meeting and planning sessions for the celebration at the Provincial Capitol Building here which was highlighted by a forum and dialogue with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Director for Western Visayas and lawyer Rodolfo B. Encajonado.

The planning session was spearheaded by CSC Capiz Provincial Director Ma. Cynthia P. A. Gellegani who also distributed to participants a CSC Memorandum Circular about the 108th Anniversary of Philippine Civil Service which outlined various activities for the month-long celebration.

“This year’s anniversary shall honor the significant role played by civil servants in national development and nation-building, highlighting individual and collective efforts to be responsive to people’s needs and enjoining civil servants to take pride in the nobility of their profession despite challenging times,” said a CSC Capiz Field Office news release.

“Government agencies and instrumentalities at all levels are enjoined to undertake activities which are simple and inexpensive,” the news added.

This year’s theme of the celebration is “Republic Service: Kabalikat ng Bayan sa Panahon ng Paghamon.”

The country’s civil service system was formally established under Public Law No. 5 (“An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of Our Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Island”) in 1900 by the Second Philippine Commission.
