Goodbye Palumba-abanay; hello Sulong Pahampang ’08

All work with no play makes City Hall officials and employees dull boys and dull girls.

Roxas City, Capiz –  Thus, with the successful holding of Sulong-Roxas Pahampang ’ 08 at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center Sept. 25-27, Mayor Vicente Bermejo expressed the  hope that the activity will not only revitalize,  but also effect “internal” and other  changes,  in the City Hall’s workforce.

The mayor said he expects the employees to boost  their  self-esteem,  good values and positive outlook in life after the friendly competition.          Describing the sports event,  which was held in the “true spirit of sportsmanship,” Mayor Bermejo said it was a very enjoyable, refreshing and worthwhile activity.  Now that they have been “recharged,” the mayor said he expects City Hall occupants to be now more prepared in facing the challenges and demand  of public service.

The mayor commended the city councilors as well as  city officials and employees for their active involvement in  the sportsfest. He hinted that it will  now be a regular activity of the city.

When he was governor, Mayor Bermejo initiated the holding of Palumba-anay, a sportfest for provincial employees.
